Trexan was the brand name under which
Naltrexone was originally marketed by DuPont Pharmaceuticals.
In 1984, the FDA approved the medication for treatment of
heroin addiction. When later the medication was officially approved for
treatment of alcohol dependence, its name was changed to ReVia®.
